The Big Change

Ladies and Gentlement we present you with The Rave’s biggest change yet. So let’s start this lecture with some history. The Rave began a few years ago as an idea, broadcasting short events in ventrilo every few weeks or so, now going to a 24/7 broadcast we’ve been adding equipment like never before! So what makes this “Big Change” so special? Well isn’t that what your here to find out?

So this is what will happen, what will be added and what will be removed, call it the change log if you’d like:

New Stuff!

• Higher broadcasting quality, with selections from 128kbps to 256kbps, special events may even go up to 320kbps
• Constant playlist shuffling, although our playlist is around a week or so long we will constantly shuffle it so you almost never hear the same song twice.
• Upgraded broadcasting program, using high end software to create seamless beat-matching for crossfading, it will feel like you are in a real techno club!
• Less down time! Downtime happens maybe if electricity goes out, internet gets un-pluged, or maybe software has to be restarted. Although we’ve upgraded every piece of equipment. New server, new computer, new everything. So the likely-ness for a down time is less common than flying pigs
• New equipment! Now using a powerful server and a powerful computer to broadcast!
• UStream broadcast might get removed, if not it is not guaranteed for support. Although you won’t need an internet browser to listen, you will be able to do it using Windows Media Player, VLC Media Player, Quicktime and other popular media players!
• Live Hosts! We’re aiming to be unique, and now you will hear a live host taking requests, saying news, and maybe even mixing live!
• Interviews! Bringing hot new djs and other VIPs into the studio room for interviews, all will be recorded and put as a podcast as well as being live!
• Everyday adding more music! Making the playlist longer and keeping you updated with what’s going on!
